The Version 4.1 update of Genshin Impact, released on Sept. 27, introduced a new feature called Adventure Encounters. While intended to enhance the gameplay experience by offering an alternative way to complete daily commissions, this feature has sparked a division among players.
Prior to this update, players had to complete four assigned tasks in a specific region to earn daily commission rewards. This often led to repetitive tasks and a monotonous gameplay experience. Adventure Encounters aimed to address this issue by providing additional tasks that players could complete to earn rewards in a more engaging manner.
Adventure Encounters allows players to earn points by completing various tasks such as opening chests, completing specific quests, collecting special items, and participating in exclusive events.
Some players, particularly newer and more casual ones, have embraced this addition as it offers a fresh mechanic to enjoy. They appreciate the opportunity to explore new areas and skip repetitive commissions for a few weeks after each update.
However, more seasoned players who have already completed most of the available tasks find Adventure Encounters lacking. They feel that the feature should provide more ways to earn Adventure Encounter Points, such as including Domains and bosses instead of solely focusing on chests and quests with a limited quantity.
Despite the mixed reception, many players agree that Adventure Encounters encourages a slower pace of gameplay and allows them to fully immerse themselves in the vast world of Teyvat. It provides an opportunity to appreciate the game’s offerings rather than rushing through everything.
While the Adventure Encounter Points system has its controversies, it is possible that the developers will take player feedback into account and expand the feature in the future to cater to all types of players. For now, players will need to make the most of the available tasks to claim their daily rewards.
