Hai Returns to Cloud9 as Team Manager

superadmin

After more than six years away, Hai, a veteran of the North American League of Legends scene, is making his comeback. He has been appointed as the new team manager for Cloud9’s League division, marking his return to a top-tier LCS esports organization since leaving the Golden Guardians in 2018.

Hai’s return was announced on C9’s LinkedIn page, catching many fans by surprise as the news took a few hours to circulate.

Known for his innovative shotcalling, Hai was a prominent figure during the early years of competitive League. He led his team of beloved players to several championships, including a rare international tournament victory at IEM San Jose 2014. Throughout his career, Hai played multiple roles for C9, showcasing his versatility in mid lane, support, and even jungle positions.

His most notable tenure was with C9 alongside legendary NA players such as Sneaky and Meteos. Although they didn’t amass numerous accolades, they had memorable runs, securing two LCS championships, making three World Championship appearances, and engaging in storied rivalries with organizations like TSM and Team Liquid.

After departing from C9, Hai had stints with FlyQuest and Golden Guardians before establishing his own esports organization called Radiance. The amateur program competed in various lower-tier tournaments and recently participated in the Proving Grounds.

As Cloud9’s team manager, Hai will bring his wealth of experience to guide and mentor the players as they prepare for the 2023 World Championship in South Korea. The team will face off against the world’s best players on the main stage starting Thursday, Oct. 19.
