If you’ve been following Halo Infinite, you’ve probably noticed that developer 343 Industries has been adding more content to the game. The upcoming season five, called ‘Reckoning,’ is set to launch on Oct. 17 and promises to deliver highly requested features and game modes.
The new season will not only introduce two new Arena maps and a battle pass but also bring back the PvE Firefight mode with a King of the Hill twist. Additionally, Extraction, a competitive mode last seen in Halo 4, will make its return.
One of the most exciting additions is the reintroduction of Firefight, which will arrive later in the mid-season. Players can look forward to building arcade experiences with AI combatants from the campaign using the new Forge AI Toolkit.
Halo Infinite’s armor core system has faced criticism for its inability to swap armor pieces between cores. While some improvements were made, season five takes a significant step by making helmets cross-core compatible. This change, along with Flood-themed cosmetics, 20 free tiers in the battle pass, and the ability to earn battle pass XP in custom games, fulfills many community wishes.
The specifics of the battle pass content are still unknown, but a teaser in the trailer hints at the return of Master Chief’s Halo: Combat Evolved-era Mark V armor as a wearable cosmetic. This iconic armor will be available as a PvP cosmetic for achieving Hero rank in multiplayer.
Get ready for Halo Infinite’s fifth season, Reckoning, launching on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
