Halo Infinite Season Five Launches with Exciting Customization Options

Derek Morgan

The highly anticipated season five of Halo Infinite has arrived, bringing a plethora of new features, updates, and enhanced customization options. Players are particularly thrilled about the newfound freedom in customizing their helmets.

The launch of season five has generated significant excitement, as reflected in the impressive number of concurrent players. On the day of the release, over 18,000 players were online, according to SteamDB. The game has been revitalized with new maps, game modes, expanded forge features, and an array of customization options.

The Halo community is ecstatic about the introduction of cross-core helmets in season five. While it may seem like a minor addition to the multiplayer experience, fans have been eagerly requesting this feature for some time. Previous seasons, such as three and four, did not receive the same level of positive feedback despite introducing new armor cores.

Over the past few seasons, customization options available through the online store felt limited, often offering variations of the same designs. Choices were restricted to minor deviations in color palette, shoulder padding size, and rifle coating. However, Halo Infinite now offers an extensive range of shades, including various hues of purple, green, and grey.

Armor cores introduced in previous seasons, like the Hazmat from season four, were met with indifference due to their generic and uninspiring designs. They resembled Chernobyl workers rather than elite space warriors known as Spartans.

The ability to interchange helmets across armor cores, akin to children swapping heads on their favorite Lego figures, has been met with unanimous praise from the Halo community. Players are showcasing their creative designs across various platforms since the launch of season five, sharing their favorite combinations.

Although seemingly insignificant, this small change has opened up a world of possibilities for customization. The Mirage IIC core, introduced in season three, exemplifies how this tweak has completely transformed the customization narrative in the game.

Season five has breathed new life into Halo Infinite, attracting both returning and new players. The game is free-to-play and available on PC, Xbox One, and Series X|S.
