Halo Infinite’s newest season brings a major update to Forge mode, and one Pokémon fan is showcasing its impressive potential. Despite the unexpected combination of a space shooter like Halo and Pokémon battles, a talented creator has taken on the challenge of recreating the popular pocket monster battles within Halo Infinite. The progress so far is remarkable.
In a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), DanTheBloke provides an update on the project’s current status. Players can now summon and battle their “Pokémon” in the game, although these creatures are not the actual Pokémon we know and love. Instead, they are classic enemies from the Halo universe.
By activating a switch, players can retrieve a ball for their chosen Halo creature. When thrown, the ball bursts open, summoning the monster onto the battlefield. Once both sides of the battlefield are filled with the desired number of creatures, a final switch triggers the start of the battle.
While this recreation may not perfectly replicate the typical Pokémon experience, it is still a remarkable achievement within the confines of Halo Infinite. The introduction of Forge AI in the game’s season five update has made this creation possible. Forge AI allows creators to utilize the AI tools from the game’s campaign in their Forge creations. Although it has only been available for a few days, players are already showcasing incredible creations.
The season five update has breathed new life into Halo Infinite, which experienced a significant drop in player numbers since its launch. With the addition of Forge AI, it is hoped that the player base will continue to grow, allowing the game to thrive once again.
