Valve developer suggests keeping the date and time watermark in CS2 for bug reporting purposes.
Valve developer John McDonald has explained that the date and time watermark in CS2 is there to help the team identify the specific build of the game being played. This information is crucial for reporting and fixing bugs promptly. McDonald encourages players to keep the watermark visible when submitting bug reports. However, for those who wish to remove it, there is a simple solution.
To disable the watermark, activate the console in CS2 and enter the command “r_show_build_info 0”. This will remove the build information from the HUD. It is recommended to re-enable the watermark if encountering a bug and include the version string in bug reports or videos.
Bug reports are essential for addressing issues in any new game release, including CS2. Despite an extensive beta testing phase, the game still has its share of problems, leading some players to criticize its rushed release. However, with the influx of players since the full release, it is expected that many of these issues will be resolved in the coming weeks.
If you haven’t had the chance to experience the next evolution of Counter-Strike, CS2 is now available to play on Steam.
