Infinity Ward Reduces Player Count in Warzone’s Massive Resurgence Playlist for The Haunting Event

Derek Morgan

There’s a lot happening in Al Mazrah at night as Warzone players dive into The Haunting’s Massive Resurgence playlist. However, Infinity Ward has made a deliberate choice to reduce the player count in this playlist, causing some outrage among players.

Yesterday, the player count in the Massive Resurgence playlist was lowered from 150 to 100. This decision was made in response to feedback from players who felt that the playlist was too chaotic with all the activities of The Haunting event.

Infinity Ward explained on Twitter that the lower player count retains the excitement of Massive Resurgence while providing a bit more breathing room for players to fully experience The Haunting. They assured players that this adjustment is temporary and will only be in effect during the event.

The Haunting event features various boss fights in Al Mazrah, including The Butcher from Diablo, a giant UFO, an undead Pharaoh, and Swamp Creatures. To complete objectives, players must drop in, find, and defeat these enemies. However, with 150 players, it has been challenging for some players to accomplish these objectives, especially since some challenges can only be completed by one person at a time.

By reducing the player count to 100, Infinity Ward hopes to make certain objectives easier to achieve. They emphasized that this change is specific to night maps and will revert to the normal player count once The Haunting event concludes.

The Haunting event will run in MW2 and Warzone until November 6, just four days before the release of Modern Warfare 3. Players have until then to enjoy the spooky festivities and take on the thrilling challenges that await them in Al Mazrah.
