Iso’s Kill Contract: Underrated and Versatile

Xavier Ward

VALORANT players are discovering the true potential of Iso’s ultimate ability, Kill Contract, proving that the game’s sixth duelist is already well-balanced and doesn’t require any changes. Despite initial negative opinions, players have found numerous effective ways to utilize Iso’s interdimensional one-vs-one arena in ranked matches.

One player pointed out the underrated aspect of pulling an enemy off the map with Iso’s ult. This can greatly benefit attackers by making it easier to enter a defended site. Even if Iso doesn’t win the duel, the attacker can camp the enemy’s point of resurrection without the Double Tap shield advantage.

Another useful application of Kill Contract is in a one-vs-one post-plant situation. Even if Iso loses the duel, the defense often doesn’t have enough time to defuse the Spike, resulting in a round win for the attacker. Defending Iso players can also use this tactic to prevent the Spike from being planted.

Players have also discovered the advantage of using Kill Contract to target defending sentinels like Cypher and Killjoy. By pulling them into the arena, their traps are deactivated, making it easier for the team to execute their strategy.

One player shared their experience of using the ultimate in a close-range duel, winning the fight, and then trading their weapon for a better one from the defeated enemy. They also mentioned how Kill Contract helped them escape a precarious situation where death seemed imminent.

Initially hesitant to use the ultimate due to concerns about enemy camping, another player realized the potential of Iso’s ult in combination with Double Tap. With the ability to activate Double Tap three times in a round using the ultimate, they now confidently use Kill Contract without fear.

Iso’s ultimate can also be used to cancel powerful enemy ultimates such as Breach’s Rolling Thunder, Yoru’s Dimensional Drift, Reyna’s Empress, Raze’s Showstopper, Sova’s Hunter’s Fury, Chamber’s Tour De Force, and Viper’s Pit. This adds another layer of strategic value to Iso’s kit.

Overall, Iso is not just about gunplay but also rewards creative and strategic playstyles. While he may seem self-centered like Reyna, half of his kit is designed for team play. To fully utilize Iso’s potential, it is best to combine his abilities with those of other duelists on the team. His ultimate and Undercut ability can have a significant impact when used in conjunction with other agent abilities.
