Iso’s Ultimate Charges Quickly and Could Be Game-Changing

Xavier Ward

The VALORANT community is still in awe after Riot Games’ recent reveal of the game’s newest agent Iso and his unique abilities.

Iso’s ultimate ability, Kill Contract, has players buzzing with excitement. This ability allows Iso to pull an opposing player into an inter-dimensional arena for a one-vs-one duel. But there’s more to it that makes Iso even scarier: he gains access to this ultimate very quickly.

Pro player and content creator Tyson “TenZ” Ngo discovered during his first playthroughs of Iso that it only takes seven ult points to unlock the ultimate. What’s more, regardless of whether you win or lose the one-vs-one, you automatically gain a point during the ultimate itself.

This means that after your first use of the ability, Iso’s ultimate only requires six additional ult points to activate each time. This is incredibly short for an ultimate ability that is guaranteed to take at least one player out of the round. In fact, there are only three other ultimates in the game that require just six points to activate: Cypher’s Neural Theft, Phoenix’s Run It Back, and Reyna’s Empress.

No other ultimates in the game go below the six-point threshold, making these the fastest ultimates to charge. TenZ agrees that this is relatively “broken,” considering how impactful the ability can be in the right hands.

Kill Contract is a highly effective way to win against save rounds, defend a spike from being defused, and find an easy pick to kickstart a push onto a site. If a player is confident in their aiming abilities, they can be a menace to an opposing team that may lack mechanical skill but excel in teamplay.

Players will get to experience the power of Iso when he hits VALORANT’s live servers on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
