Janna, the beloved enchanter support in League of Legends, may soon have the potential to become an even more versatile pick. Players on the League subreddit have proposed an idea to enhance Janna’s Eye of the Storm (E) ability, allowing it to provide a bonus to Adaptive Force. This change would make Janna a better partner for a wider range of bottom lane champions, including those who rely on Ability Power (AP).
Currently, Eye of the Storm only boosts Attack Damage for champions it is applied to. By modifying the ability to increase either AP or AD, depending on the recipient, Janna would gain an extra layer of depth and relevance. This update would bring her up to speed with other options in the support role, providing more strategic possibilities for players.
Janna, released in 2009, has seen minimal changes to her kit over the years, making her gameplay relatively straightforward compared to other champions. Her E ability serves as a basic shield and AD boost, but adding the option to enhance AP would give her much-needed versatility and bring her in line with the evolving support meta.
“This change would double her relevancy after the laning phase,” commented a player named gyarados10. “Having E on a mage would feel significantly better.” Another player agreed, emphasizing the importance of not allowing Janna to benefit from the AP bonus herself.
If this change were implemented, Janna could potentially become one of the strongest enchanter supports in League. Her increased versatility would make her a valuable addition to various team compositions. Additionally, direct changes to Janna’s kit could reduce her reliance on specific items like Ardent Censer and Staff of Flowing Water to empower her allies. Currently, Janna holds a 2.3 percent pick rate at support across all solo queue ranks, ranking 27th out of 47 possible support picks.
Janna’s Eye of the Storm received a significant change last December, increasing the shield power but reducing the bonus attack damage. There are no plans to buff or nerf Janna in the upcoming Patch 13.20.
