League of Legends’ AD carry meta has been dominated by a few champions in recent patches, leaving Jinx at the bottom of the barrel. However, Riot Games is planning to change that in Patch 13.20 by giving Jinx a series of buffs to make her more relevant in the role.
Jinx has consistently had one of the lowest win rates among ADCs, with a dismal 48 percent win rate in Emerald ranks and above over the last five patches. To address this, Riot’s lead champion designer, August Browning, has revealed some changes being tested for the next patch. These changes include a slight increase in Jinx’s health per level, a significant decrease in the cooldown of her ultimate ability, and a modification to her passive, Get Excited, allowing the attack speed boost on kills to stack again.
The goal of these buffs is to make Jinx more impactful in teamfights and increase her damage output as she secures takedowns. The stackable attack speed boost will be a welcome return for Jinx mains, while the reduced cooldown on her ultimate will ensure she has her Super Mega Death Rocket available for almost every late-game fight.
Jinx has struggled against the current meta picks, such as Xayah and Ezreal, due to her lack of versatility and escape tools. She heavily relies on securing kills to activate her passive and lacks self-peeling abilities to fend off aggressive champions. These buffs aim to address these weaknesses and make Jinx a more viable option in team compositions.
By making her ultimate ability more readily available and allowing her to stack attack speed, Jinx will become a force to be reckoned with in teamfights. These changes should not only improve her performance but also make her a formidable DPS machine.
