League of Legends Champions: Remembering the Broken Mechanics

superadmin

League of Legends champions have undergone numerous nerfs, buffs, and reworks to their mechanics over the years. While some of these changes were necessary, players often look back fondly on the broken mechanics that made the game more fun and chaotic. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of these mechanics.

Soraka’s Astral Infusion (W) Ability: Healing Minions

One of the most memorable broken mechanics was Soraka’s ability to heal minions with her Astral Infusion (W). This caused frustration for enemy ADCs who struggled to secure cannon minions in the early game. The constant healing made it incredibly difficult to push lanes and siege turrets.

Karma’s Shield and Taric’s Heal on Minions

In addition to Soraka, Karma’s shield and Taric’s heal were also abilities that could be cast on minions. This allowed players to bolster their minion waves and gain an advantage when attacking turrets. It added an extra layer of strategy to the game.

Soraka’s Starcall (Q) Ability: Magic Resistance Reduction

Soraka’s Starcall (Q) ability used to reduce the enemy’s magic resistance instead of just slowing them and dealing damage. This made her a formidable force against magic-based champions, amplifying the damage dealt by her teammates.

Oracle’s Elixir: The Bane of Invisible Champions

Oracle’s Elixir was an item that granted detection of nearby invisible units for up to four minutes or until death. This made champions like Talon, Teemo, Akali, and Shaco vulnerable and unable to effectively utilize their stealth abilities. The item was eventually removed from the game, but its impact was felt during its existence.

Mordekaiser’s Ultimate: Children of the Grave

Mordekaiser’s old ultimate ability, Children of the Grave, allowed him to curse enemy champions and gain control over them if they died. What made it even more amusing was that this ultimate could also be used on Dragons, turning them into powerful allies. The sight of a massive pet dragon wreaking havoc on the enemy team was both terrifying and exhilarating.

While many players reminisce about the broken mechanics and items that have been removed from the game, it’s important to remember that balance and fairness are crucial for a competitive experience. League of Legends continues to evolve, and new broken skills and item combinations may emerge in the future. Until then, let’s cherish the memories and enjoy the game as it is.
