Brazilian VALORANT powerhouse LOUD has reportedly secured its fifth member with the addition of former FURIA player Gabriel “qck” Lima. This move comes after the departure of star player Erick “aspas” Santos, as LOUD aims to solidify its roster for the upcoming season.
According to a report from Brazilian site The Enemy, LOUD and qck have reached a verbal agreement, with the contract signing expected to take place soon. While qck is known for his proficiency on Jett, his recent role on FURIA has been more flexible. It remains to be seen whether he will return to his Jett roots or adapt to a new role within the LOUD lineup.
This announcement follows the news that LOUD’s former head coach, Daniel “fRoD” Montaner, will not be returning for the 2024 season. While this change leaves a void in the coaching staff, the addition of qck fills a crucial spot in the team’s roster.
Qck brings a wealth of experience to LOUD, having competed for FURIA over the past two years. In 2021, FURIA was a dominant force in South America, but LOUD surpassed them in 2022 with strong performances in the VCT and at Champions 2022 in Istanbul, Turkey.
LOUD continued their success in 2023 at LOCK//IN São Paulo, reaching the final but falling short against Fnatic. Meanwhile, FURIA struggled to replicate their 2021 form and finished in fifth place in the VCT. Both teams joined the VCT franchising system in 2023.
The LOUD roster underwent changes in the 2023 off-season, with two championship players, Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi and Bryan “pANcada” Luna, departing for Sentinels. LOUD signed Cauan “cauanzin” Pereira and Arthur “tuyz” Vieira as replacements, showcasing their ability to remain competitive regionally and internationally.
With the departure of aspas and the addition of qck, LOUD’s core lineup will need to adjust and integrate their new member. The team’s expectations remain high as they aim to maintain their status as one of the top teams in VCT Americas when the season kicks off in February 2024.
