Major NA LCS Organizations Partner with LCS Game Changers Finalists

Tim Price

Three top North American League of Legends teams have joined forces with the finalists of the LCS Game Changers program, providing them with additional support and backing as they compete in the final stage of the program.

The three squads—Arcana, Astrocats, and Serenity—have partnered with well-known LCS organizations NRG, Team Liquid, and Golden Guardians respectively. This collaboration will give the Game Changers finalists access to the same facilities and support that the best LCS teams receive.

Riot Games, in collaboration with esports research group SIDO, has been working on the Game Changers program for the past three years. The program aims to create a more diverse and inclusive esports environment by providing women and those of marginalized genders with professional opportunities in the industry. This includes not only high ELO players, but also coaches, management, and on-screen talent.

The Game Changers finals will take place on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles, California. The teams have been hosted by their respective LCS organizations in preparation for the event.

The finals will feature a round-robin format, with Arcana and Serenity playing a best-of-three qualifying final, followed by the grand final between Astrocats and the winner of the qualifying final. The matches will be streamed live on the main LCS Twitch channel.

The Game Changers program has been a great success, and Riot Games has extended the initiative to its sister game, VALORANT, with the upcoming VCT Game Changers Championship in November. However, the announcement of the championship venue in São Paulo, Brazil has sparked controversy due to its small audience capacity.

Despite the controversy, Riot Games is committed to promoting gender diversity and providing opportunities for underrepresented talent in the esports industry. The Game Changers program has already made a positive impact, and with the support of major organizations, it is set to continue growing and nurturing talent in the future.

Don’t miss out on the exciting Game Changers finals this weekend, and stay tuned for more updates on Riot Games’ efforts to create a more inclusive esports community.
