Man-Thing Arrives in Marvel Snap with a Game-Changing Ability

Tim Price

Rejoice, Marvel Snap players! New cards are now released on Tuesdays at 2pm CT, providing a more convenient schedule for players. The first card to receive this Tuesday release treatment is Man-Thing, a half-man, half-thing swamp monster who possesses a unique ability that can greatly impact the game.

Man-Thing’s card text states that cards with a cost of 1, 2, and 3 at his location will have their power reduced by 2. While this effect is not entirely new in Snap, it holds significant power in the current meta. Man-Thing has the potential to shake up the game and potentially secure victories on his own.

Let’s delve into the details of Man-Thing’s card in Marvel Snap:

Card Name: Man-Thing
Card Stats:
– Cost: 4
– Power: 5
Card Text: Ongoing: 1, 2, and 3-Cost cards here have -2 Power.

Man-Thing’s arrival introduces a formidable force that directly counters decks reliant on low-cost cards, which have been prevalent in the meta recently. Decks such as Bounce and Zoo, popularized by cards like Elsa Bloodstone, may see a decline in effectiveness.

Beyond countering specific decks, Man-Thing proves to be a valuable four-drop overall. Since the majority of cards played during a match fall within the one, two, or three-cost range, he has a high chance of significantly weakening one lane per game.

Moreover, Man-Thing exhibits great potential in “junk” decks that aim to flood the opponent’s side of the board with low-power cards. Pairing him with characters like Viper, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, and Debrii can amplify their impact and make them even more devastating.

It is worth noting that Man-Thing’s presence also enhances the strength of Luke Cage, a popular meta tech card. Luke Cage prevents any card from having their power reduced, making him even more formidable when faced with the threat of Man-Thing.

With three more cards set to be released in October’s Bloodstone season, the meta is likely to undergo significant shifts, similar to the changes observed during Loki’s season last month.
