PSG Talon’s mid laner, Maple, has reportedly retired from professional League of Legends. After their early exit from Worlds 2023, Maple decided to end his 10-year-long pro career. While the news hasn’t been officially confirmed, Maple’s contract is set to expire on Nov. 20, making this retirement announcement plausible.
During his illustrious career, Maple played for various Asian organizations, most notably Flash Wolves and PSG Talon in the LMS/PCS region. He achieved great success, participating in multiple international tournaments, including four Mid-Season Invitationals where he reached the semifinals each time.
Maple also made seven appearances at the League of Legends World Championships. Although he briefly played in the LPL and LCS with teams like Suning and TSM, all of his Worlds appearances were with LMS/PCS teams.
Maple’s impact on the local scene cannot be overstated. While the main regions typically dominate Worlds and MSIs, the LMS/PCS region has caused a few upsets throughout history, and Maple was often at the forefront of these victories.
Overall, Maple’s retirement marks the end of an era for League of Legends fans. His contributions to the game and his impressive career will be remembered by many.
