With the highly anticipated release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 just weeks away, fans are already speculating about what other superhero games Insomniac could create in the future. The success of the Spider-Man games has sparked excitement and imagination among players, leading to suggestions for games featuring characters like Hulk, Daredevil, Venom, Deadpool, The Punisher, Fantastic Four, and Ghost Rider.
One popular suggestion is a game centered around Hulk, a classic Marvel hero who already has a strong foundation with The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction released in 2005.
Another fan-favorite idea is a Daredevil game, but not just any game – a fully immersive linear story experience. While an open world may not be suitable for Daredevil’s New York City setting, a well-crafted narrative would captivate players.
Many fans, myself included, would be thrilled to see a game dedicated to Venom, especially if we can play as him in Spider-Man 2. While we’ll get a taste of Venom through Peter’s symbiote suit, a game where we can fully embrace the monstrous character would be incredible.
The choice of the next game will likely depend on the nature of the upcoming Wolverine game. If Wolverine follows a linear format, the next game could explore an open world, and vice versa.
If Insomniac’s next Marvel game takes place in New York City, it would be exciting to see cameos from other beloved superheroes. In Spider-Man 2, players will witness the other Spider-Man stopping crimes, and there’s no reason why Insomniac couldn’t expand on this feature in future games.
While we may not see an “Insomniac cinematic game universe,” the prospect of another superhero game is enticing. It’s also worth considering that Insomniac may surprise us with something completely original and different. Whatever they have in store, it’s bound to be fantastic.
