Marvel vs. Capcom 3, a popular fighting game released in 2011, is getting a major update thanks to a dedicated group of modders. The unofficial release, called Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Community Edition, will expand the game’s roster with over 50 additional characters. This mod package will be available for the PC version of the game and will feature fighters from previous projects, including Street Fighter’s Dan Hibiki and Nero from Devil May Cry.
The modders have been working on this project for years, adding unique movesets and voicelines to each new character. The gameplay of UMvC3 will remain unchanged, staying true to the original game. This community project is similar to what Project M did for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, enhancing the game with new content long after its official support ended.
The modding community behind UMvC3: CE includes Treewiz, Chimichangar, Angelglory, Watcherkave, Xeno, Voltaic, Novembermann, Calikingz01, and many others. Their hard work and dedication have resulted in an expanded roster, new costumes, and improvements to the character select screen.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Community Edition is not yet available for download, but the trailer provides a preview of the upcoming mods. While three characters are close to release, the fourth character and the full Community Edition pack will be available at a later date.
This mod package will be a separate download from the base game, but it will be free for all players. It is important to note that UMvC3: CE is an unofficial mod and not an officially licensed game release.
