Moist Esports, a professional Apex Legends team, is making some exciting changes for the upcoming fourth year of the pro league. Not only are they moving to the North American region, but they are also considering adding former NRG player Gildersons to their roster.
Gildersons, a talented controller player at the age of 19, has had success with NRG in the past. However, since NRG left competitive Apex last month, fans have been left wondering about Gild’s future. It was hinted by Sweetdreams on September 16 that Gild would be picked up by a top-tier team in need of a skilled controller fragger, while Sweet and Nafan would stick together and find a third player.
Speculation arose that Dark Zero (DZ) would be the team to pick up Gildersons, especially after they dropped Xynew following their disappointing 13th place finish in the 2023 Championship. DZ’s journey in the tournament ended just before the finals lobby, falling short of their desired outcome against TSM.
One possible reason for Gild not staying with his old teammates is his difficulty in handling Sweet’s in-game leading. This suggests that a move to Dark Zero, known for their demanding standards of play, may be a better fit for players with stronger egos and thicker skin. Sweet describes the potential pairing of Gild and Zero as “cataclysmic”.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, it is likely that Gildersons will sign with Moist Esports in the near future. The Apex Legends Championship was an incredibly thrilling tournament, with TSM’s remarkable comeback and the emergence of teams like BLVKHVND and Dream Fire. The addition of more top-tier teams like Moist Esports only intensifies the competition for North American teams to qualify for LAN events.
