Monopoly GO Players Disappointed with Golden Blitz Event

Xavier Ward

Last week, Monopoly GO players in Spain and South America were treated to the first-ever Golden Blitz event. However, now that the event is available to everyone, many players are expressing their dissatisfaction.

The Golden Blitz event is a limited-time event that allows players to give and receive Golden stickers. This was a significant development as Golden stickers were previously untradeable and could only be obtained through random sticker packs.

During the event, which took place on October 11, players from the specified regions could trade two specific Golden stickers (“Happy Trading” and “Discovery”). To participate, players could join the official Facebook trading group and post their available stickers and what they needed. Some players outside the designated regions managed to participate by using a VPN.

On October 16, the first official worldwide Golden Blitz event was launched, but the response has been mixed. While the initial event allowed players to trade rare stickers that many were missing or had an excess of, the global event only offered new stickers that most players did not have.

According to a Reddit post on October 16, over 90% of players did not possess the required stickers. While some fortunate players were able to take advantage of the event and enhance their collections, others were not as lucky. Furthermore, several users reported instances of players demanding real money in exchange for the stickers.

Sticker trading has been a feature in Monopoly GO for some time, but it was previously limited to non-golden stickers. Players have been requesting the ability to trade golden stickers for months, and the Golden Blitz event was intended to fulfill this demand. However, according to fans, the event did not meet their expectations.

Until now, the only way to obtain certain Golden stickers was through occasional sticker packs, which could be acquired with real money. Since the stickers in these packs are random, it seems unlikely that developers would allow players to freely trade them without any restrictions.

It remains to be seen how future Golden Blitz events will unfold and whether the Monopoly GO community will be satisfied. In the meantime, players can still enjoy the Creative Accounting events, which have proven to be a lot of fun.
