More Weapons and Builds Now Viable in Armored Core 6 with Latest Update

superadmin

The latest surprise update for Armored Core 6 has brought about balance changes to over 100 weapons and parts, making the game more diverse and allowing for a wider range of viable loadouts. Patch 1.03.1 is now live on all platforms, introducing nerfs to powerful weapons and buffs to many others.

The Zimmerman shotgun has received the most significant nerfs, with its Attack Power, Impact, Accumulative Impact, and Direct Hit Adjustment stats all being lowered. The Haldeman shotgun also saw a nerf, although less severe, with only its Direct Hit Adjustment stat being decreased.

Shotguns were previously considered almost useless in previous Armored Core games, but in AC6 they became some of the best weapons. It remains to be seen if they will still be worth using after these adjustments.

Another heavily nerfed weapon is the Stun Needle Launcher, with its Attack Power, Impact, and Accumulative Impact stats all being decreased. This shoulder weapon was arguably the strongest in the game and could trivialize certain boss encounters, so it’s good to see it being brought in line with other weapons.

The Songbird Grenade Cannon also received similar nerfs, which is not surprising considering it was the second-most powerful shoulder weapon after the Stun Needle Launcher.

All other weapons have been buffed, with improvements to their Attack Power, Total Rounds, Projectile Speed, or Reload Times, making them more effective in combat.

In addition to weapon changes, FromSoftware made extensive adjustments to AC frame and inner parts. Most heads now have improved System Recovery, most arms have increased Recoil Control, and most legs, especially Bipedal legs, have increased Attitude Stability and Jump Distance. However, the Tetrapod legs and Fortaleza tank legs have been nerfed.

These changes aim to narrow the power gap between the strongest and weakest parts in AC6, providing more build variety and giving players greater freedom in assembling their ideal mech. Players are excited to dive back into the game and experiment with the new changes, as the increased build variety promises exciting possibilities.
