Warframe players can look forward to an exciting new expansion called “Abyss of Dagath” set to release on October 18th. The expansion will introduce the fearsome headless horsewoman, Dagath, as the game’s 54th Warframe. Alongside Dagath, players can expect quality-of-life improvements and the Prime form of the Grendel Warframe.
Digital Extremes, the developer of Warframe, provided details about the upcoming update during their recent devstream. Dagath will come with an alternate helmet and a royal kaithe skin, as well as her signature weapon, Dorrclave. With her aggressive abilities, Dagath will swiftly dispatch enemies using a DoT attack, a second breath ability that enhances her damage output when she should die, and low health bonuses.
The expansion will also bring a rework for Companions, who will no longer die in missions but instead be knocked down when their health reaches zero. They will also receive bonuses to improve their survivability. Additionally, Hydroid will undergo a rework that changes all of his abilities, enhancing his corrosive damage and allowing him to drag enemies and strip their armor for himself. He will no longer deal magnetic damage, focusing solely on corrosive damage.
Aside from these changes, the Abyss of Dagath update will introduce various quality-of-life improvements. Flawed mods will be removed, and normal starter weapons will replace MK1 variants. A 30-meter radar will help players spot enemies, and Waverider challenges will be reduced. The update will also include accessibility additions and more.
In October, Warframe’s annual charity event will take place, with all proceeds going to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Players will have the opportunity to earn rewards by donating to the Foundation during the event.
Additionally, players can celebrate Halloween with the Nights of Naberus event, featuring familiar activities and content from previous iterations. New rewards, such as the Lotus Vampire skin and Sentinel accessories, will be available to entice players to complete the event’s challenges.
During the livestream, the developer acknowledged that the handling of Heirloom Packs was poor and promised changes before the next batch is released in 2024.
