Nexus Blitz, the highly anticipated game mode in League of Legends, has returned after a three-year absence. However, players are disappointed and consider it “dead,” placing the blame on Riot Games.
On November 15, a Reddit user named xxs- claimed that the game mode is lifeless. They pointed out that the queue time is around three to four minutes, none of their friends are playing it, and overall interest is low. Many others agreed with xxs- and shared their own frustrations, primarily blaming Riot for the current state of Nexus Blitz.
According to players, Nexus Blitz is unbalanced, with certain champions being too powerful and snowballing out of control. The random nature of the events also favors one team over the other, leading to frustration and an unfair playing field. Some players even described the mode as “unbalanced as shit.”
Despite the three-year wait for its return, Riot Games made minimal changes to Nexus Blitz, resulting in an even more unbalanced and random experience than before. While the novelty of these elements may be enjoyable for a game or two, they fail to keep the community engaged in the long term. This is not the first time players have voiced their concerns about these issues.
It’s understandable why players feel this way. When Nexus Blitz returned in late October, many players, including myself, initially jumped into the mode with excitement. However, it didn’t take long for us to lose interest and return to other game modes where we felt our impact was more significant.
Nexus Blitz will be discontinued on November 27, giving players another week and a half to give it a try and form their own opinions.
