While bug fixes and small updates will continue to be released, there will be no DLC expansions like those seen in Breath of the Wild.
The director of Tears of the Kingdom, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, mentioned that the team is already thinking about the next exciting experience for the Zelda franchise, but they are unsure of what form it will take. Aonuma also left the possibility open for future DLC if new ideas arise that can enhance the world of Hyrule in a meaningful way. However, for now, he hopes that players will look forward to a completely new way to play, whether it be through another sequel or a brand new game.
