After a three-year absence, North American League of Legends veteran Tristan “Zeyzal” Stidam is set to make his comeback on the big stage in 2024. Reports suggest that he has signed with Shopify Rebellion as their starting support for the upcoming season. The 24-year-old will be joining the organization as they make their debut in the league after acquiring TSM’s franchised slot.
Zeyzal is no stranger to the LCS, having made a name for himself during his time with Cloud9 in 2018. He played a crucial role in helping the team reach the semifinals of the 2018 World Championship. Since then, he has had stints with various teams in the NA scene, including Evil Geniuses, Solafide Esports, C9 Challengers, and Disguised.
If the reported moves by Shopify Rebellion come to fruition, Zeyzal will be reuniting with former teammate Aaron “FakeGod” Lee, who also played on Disguised’s Challenger roster in 2023. Both players will also be reunited with their former coach, Seong “Reven” Sang-hyeon, under whom they played during their time on Cloud9’s Challenger roster.
While Shopify Rebellion may not have been linked to many superstar players this offseason, their combination of experienced talent and promising prospects could surprise fans who may have initially been underwhelmed by their reported roster. However, they will face tough competition from established lineups in 2024 if they hope to make a significant impact in their first season together as a team.
