OG, the professional Counter-Strike team, has suffered a blow as one of its key players, Nemanja “nexa” Isaković, has left the organization. Nexa, who served as the in-game leader and rifler for OG, had been with the team for almost two years. This departure comes shortly after G2 reportedly parted ways with Justin “jks” Savage, and there are rumors that nexa may be joining G2 to fill jks’ spot. If this move materializes, it would mark nexa’s return to G2 after leaving them in January 2022.
The future of OG’s CS2 division is uncertain following nexa’s departure. Currently, the team only consists of Maciej “F1KU” Miklas, Iulian “regali” Harjău, and Nils “k1to” Gruhne. Dion “FASHR” Derksen was recently benched on November 14, and OG is struggling to find their footing in CS2.
Nexa’s time with OG was highlighted by his leadership in the team’s victory at the IEM Rio Major in November 2022. This major tournament marked OG’s first participation in a Valve-sponsored event for Counter-Strike esports.
Earlier this year, nexa briefly stepped down from OG’s active lineup due to personal reasons but returned in June to lead the team’s new lineup featuring FASHR and k1to. However, they faced difficulties at the start of CS2’s cycle and failed to achieve significant results.
Nexa has not revealed his next destination, but he expressed gratitude to OG for the time spent together. If he does join G2, confirmation is likely to come in the following weeks. It is unlikely that G2 would make such a significant change before the upcoming prestigious tournaments, such as the BLAST Premier Fall Final and the BLAST Premier World Final in December.
