One Piece Fan Plays Pokémon Go in the Middle of a Hurricane

superadmin

A Pokémon Go player, who happens to be a fan of the popular manga series One Piece, found themselves in the middle of a hurricane off the coast of Florida. Instead of worrying about the storm, they were more interested in a game mechanic question about Pokémon captured away from land. The community responded by focusing on the player’s resemblance to the One Piece protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy.

The player’s avatar, wearing a straw hat from a crossover event with One Piece, drew comparisons to Luffy. They even shared a selfie in front of the ocean, further solidifying their nickname as “IRL Luffy.” Despite being chased by Hurricane Lee, the player prioritized their curiosity about the game’s location tag feature.

In response to the player’s question, it is not uncommon for Pokémon captured near or on bodies of water to lack a location tag. This is due to how Pokémon Go uses location services, resulting in unregistered GPS spaces or areas away from land not having a registered location for captured Pokémon.

While providing a concise answer, the thread also became a platform for One Piece fans to connect and share “Nakama” codes, as well as make jokes related to the series. Overall, it was a lighthearted and entertaining discussion amidst the player’s adventure through the hurricane.
