Open Hand Foundation Accused of Withholding Donations for Nearly a Decade

Xavier Ward

YouTubers Karl Jobst and Mutahar Anas (SomeOrdinaryGamers) have recently made shocking allegations against the Open Hand Foundation, operated by The Completionist. According to their investigations, the organization has been withholding donations for almost 10 years. These claims have sparked controversy and raised concerns within the gaming charity community.

In videos posted on November 13, Jobst and Anas exposed the alleged misconduct of the Open Hand Foundation. However, on November 15, the organization attempted to have the videos taken down. Fortunately, their efforts were rejected by YouTube, as Jobst shared on Twitter. The Open Hand Foundation had made privacy claims against Jobst, but YouTube dismissed them, stating that all the information presented in the videos was publicly available.

Jobst further revealed that someone from within the Open Hand Foundation had filed the privacy complaint against his video. He clarified that privacy claims can only be made by first parties and not on behalf of others. While there is a possibility of a third party impersonating the Foundation, Jobst believes it is highly likely that the complaint came directly from the organization itself.

Mutahar Anas from SomeOrdinaryGamers also expressed his concerns about the situation. He found the behavior of the Open Hand Foundation suspicious and emphasized that all they needed to do was publicly disclose the status of the donated funds and ensure they are used for their intended purpose. Anas took to Twitter to voice his opinion, stating that the Foundation should provide their bank statements to prove the money is available and then proceed with the donations. He found it odd that the organization was attempting to remove the videos when even YouTube disagreed with their claims.

The Open Hand Foundation, founded by Jirard Khalil (The Completionist), aims to raise awareness of dementia and support dementia research and relief for victims and their families. However, Jobst and Anas alleged that the Foundation had not donated any money for almost a decade, leaving the funds untouched in their bank accounts. This revelation has shaken the gaming charity scene and raised doubts about the organization’s integrity.

It is crucial to handle situations like these delicately, and it is hoped that a positive resolution will be reached. Transparency and accountability are essential in the charity sector, and the Open Hand Foundation should address these allegations promptly to restore trust within the gaming community.
