Blizzard Surprises Fans with Overwatch 2 Hero Updates for 2024
Blizzard has given fans an unexpected treat by revealing more information about the new heroes coming to Overwatch 2 in 2024. During the BlizzCon opening ceremony on Friday, Nov. 3, game director Aaron Keller shared details about the roadmap for the upcoming year, which includes three exciting new heroes.
New Heroes Coming to Overwatch 2 in 2024
Blizzard has been transparent about their plans to introduce a new hero every other season, with each season lasting approximately two months. With six seasons in a year, it’s no surprise that three new heroes will be added to the game in 2024.
Details About the New Heroes
In a surprising move, Keller provided some artwork and information about the first two heroes coming in 2024. The first hero, named Venture, will be a DPS hero. The second hero, currently known as “Space Ranger,” will be a support hero. Unfortunately, no details were shared about the third hero.
Release Timeline
Based on the Overwatch 2 season timeline, we can expect to see Venture in the game around the first or second week of April, coinciding with the start of season 10. The support hero, with an outer-space theme, will likely be introduced in August with the start of season 12. As for the third hero, a support hero is expected to be released in December for the start of season 14.
What’s Next?
While Blizzard may not reveal many more details about the new heroes this weekend, fans can look forward to the game’s “What’s Next Panel” tomorrow at 2:30pm CT. This panel may provide additional information to satisfy fans’ curiosity while they eagerly await the release of these exciting new heroes in Overwatch 2.
