Overwatch 2 fans have a lot to look forward to in 2024, as announced at BlizzCon 2023. Game director Aaron Keller revealed the game’s 39th hero, Mauga, and shared details about upcoming heroes, game modes, maps, and seasonal themes.
New Heroes
In 2024, players can expect two new heroes to join the roster. The first is a damage hero named Venture, while the second is a support hero codenamed “Space Ranger.” A third hero is also in the works, but no information has been released yet.
Clash Game Mode
Keller introduced a new competitive game mode called Clash. This mode features five capture points, with teams battling over the middle point initially and then fighting to capture all five across the map. The objective is to either capture all points or reach the maximum score. The first map confirmed for Clash is Hanaoka, a return to Hanamura with its iconic cherry blossom trees.
Seasonal Themes
Seasons in Overwatch 2 will continue in 2024, offering exciting new themes for players to enjoy. Confirmed themes include eldritch horror, Egyptian mythology, witches, and a mirror universe where heroes become villains and vice versa.
Competitive Mode Rework
