Patch 13.23: Teamfight Tactics Set 10 Launch and Meta Changes

superadmin

Patch 13.23 introduced the highly anticipated launch of Teamfight Tactics Set 10, bringing significant changes to gameplay strategies in Remix Rumble. These changes include adjustments to leveling and rolling odds, resulting in a shift in how players approach champion acquisition.

The launch of TFT Set 10 brought about various system changes, such as reducing the XP required to level up and increasing the maximum level to 10. Combined with the main Headliner mechanic in Remix Rumble, the final balance changes implemented through Patch 13.23 have led to a new meta where players prioritize rerolls and five-cost champions for their end-game boards, rather than relying on four-cost carriers in synergistic builds.

In response to these changes, TFT players have had to adapt their strategies. Currently, the most popular reroll compositions in TFT Set 10 are Annie Emo or Spellweaver, with many players considering Emo to be the stronger option. Another viable reroll choice is Vex, with Karthus serving as the secondary carrier. Players also incorporate five-cost champions like Ziggs, Illaoi, and Yorick into their compositions. Katarina Crowd Diver and Miss Fortune reroll in Jazz are also popular choices.

For players who prefer not to reroll, the focus is on building strong boards to reach Levels Nine and 10, allowing them to add powerful five-cost champions to their lineups. This shift in strategy has resulted in significant changes in leveling patterns, with most players breezing through Level Seven without much consideration.

Early leveling patterns remain relatively unchanged until reaching Level Six on Stage 3-1 or 3-2. Players who are not pursuing a reroll composition then aim to reach Level Seven after the Carousel on Stage 3-5, followed by Level Eight on Stage 4-1 or 4-2.

Players who opt for reroll strategies typically slow-roll at Level Six for low-cost units, while those relying on three-cost carriers like Miss Fortune tend to slow-roll at Level Eight. Once their compositions are complete, players focus on leveling up and slotting in five-cost champions to enhance their end-game board state.

There are no plans for a B-patch leading up to TFT Set 10 Patch 13.24, which is scheduled to be released on December 6th and will be the final update of 2023.
