This exciting addition allows players to slide through various obstacles, including dead bodies, stairs, and even upstairs. The community has embraced this mechanic so much that they have created a character dedicated to it – a floor waxer.
A video shared on Sept. 25 showcases this floor waxer, who recently started a job waxing floors in Payday 3. Every day, he witnesses how the heisters utilize the slippery floors to slide around and carry out their robberies. Initially, he felt guilty for aiding the heisters, but as time went on, he realized that the guards and civilians paid him no mind. They were so preoccupied that they couldn’t even move for him to do his job. Eventually, he even began rooting for the heisters, hoping they would successfully rob the place.
The community has grown fond of this floor waxer character and is eager to see him become a playable heister in the game. Not only would he add an element of fun to the team, but he could also have unique voice lines. Fans have suggested lines such as “I’m waxing the floor near this camera!” or “Piece of shit drill interrupting me waxing the floor.”
Sliding was introduced in Payday 3 as a way to balance the gameplay and reduce the dominance of stealth hopping, which was prevalent in Payday 2. Previously, players could bunny hop around the map without alerting guards by running, jumping, and crouching. Despite this change, players have embraced sliding and find it more realistic than the bunny hopping. While sliding upstairs may not be entirely realistic, the floor waxer character has become a beloved addition to the game.
