Pikachu With Grey Felt Hat: The Exclusive Pokémon Card Causing Chaos

Tim Price

The collaboration between Pokémon and the Van Gogh Museum has sparked a frenzy among fans, thanks to the limited edition Pikachu trading card. This unique card, featuring a portrait of Pikachu inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s “Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat,” is only available at the museum in Amsterdam.

To obtain this coveted card, fans must either complete the museum’s Pokémon Adventure event in person or purchase a Pokémon x Van Gogh item from the Pokémon Center online store. However, scalpers quickly took advantage of the situation, flooding eBay with listings of the card at exorbitant prices.

Initially, the Pikachu With Grey Felt Hat cards were being sold for as much as $200 each. While the prices have slightly dropped since then, they still remain high, with some sellers hoping to fetch over $200 and others willing to sell for around $130-$150.

The frenzy doesn’t stop at trading cards. Fans can also get their hands on a plush version of Pikachu With Grey Felt Hat from the Pokémon Center, priced between $160 and $200.

So why are Pokémon fans going crazy over this particular card? Simply put, it’s a limited edition item exclusively available at the Van Gogh Museum. This rarity has made it highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.

While the cards are subject to availability, fans still have a chance to participate in the Pokémon Adventure until Jan. 7, 2024. So, if you’re eager to join Team Rocket and secure your own Pikachu, there’s still time to embark on this exciting quest.
