However, one player found the perfect counter to this strategy, resulting in a creative and devastating move.
Reddit user ericCartmanwannabe shared their experience on August 27th, showcasing how they fought back against their opponent’s Galactus strategy using the powerful tech card, Viper. Viper’s unique ability allows players to transfer a random card from the location it is played to the opponent’s side. In this case, ericCartmanwannabe played Viper to eventually return their opponent’s Hobgoblin card, a five-cost negative eight-Power card, to their own side of the location.
To further turn the tide of the match, ericCartmanwannabe also played Shang-Chi, who easily destroyed their opponent’s Knull and Death combo. Both of these cards had nine or more Power, making them vulnerable to Shang-Chi’s abilities.
As a result, the opponent was left with only Galactus and Hobgoblin on their side, resulting in a total of negative one Power. Meanwhile, ericCartmanwannabe prevailed by generating six Power on the lone Galactus location. This sneaky play impressed fans, garnering 1,200 upvotes on Reddit and receiving praise for its creativity.
