Players Concerned About Drop Rates in Diablo 4’s Helltides Event

Tim Price

Players of Diablo 4 are expressing their frustration with the drop rates of Cinders in the Helltides event. Some players are even resorting to restarting their game, hoping it will fix the issue.

On November 6, a player raised concerns about the drop rates of Cinders during Helltides. They noticed that one party member was struggling to farm Cinders while the other three had no issues. The player suggested that their party member restart the game, and after doing so, they were able to farm at the same pace as the rest. The author believes that this is not simply a matter of RNG (random number generation) as the variance is too significant.

Other players quickly joined the discussion, sharing their own problems with the Helltides event. It appears that not only is Cinder farming bugged, but the Helltide Chests themselves are also affected. Some players are reporting that the map colors do not change for them, and the red rain, which indicates Helltides, is not falling.

Some players suggest teleporting to town as an alternative to restarting the game, but this solution seems to be hit or miss. For many, the only consistent fix is to restart the game entirely.

One player believes that Blizzard has a quality assurance problem, citing the “can’t move after dodge” bug as an example. Despite the bug supposedly being fixed in a previous patch, it has only worsened.

These bugged Helltides events are frustrating for players who rely on them to find unique equipment hidden in chests. The inability to gather Cinders efficiently prolongs farming time and leads to frustration.

Unfortunately, it seems that players will have to endure this bug for some time. Dot Esports has reached out to Blizzard Entertainment for comment but has not received a response at the time of publishing.
