Players are frustrated with the slow loading speeds in VALORANT and are calling on Riot Games to improve this aspect of the game. They are also requesting the addition of a warmup period, similar to Counter-Strike, to enhance the loading experience.
In a Reddit post, a player expressed their disappointment with VALORANT’s load times, comparing it unfavorably to other multiplayer shooters. They highlighted that games like Overwatch 2, which have more content, load much faster than VALORANT.
It’s important to note that this complaint is not related to slow PCs or bad internet connections. Even players with high-performance setups and good internet want to load into matches quickly. They argue that another player’s slow setup should not affect their own experience.
The community largely supports this complaint and suggests that VALORANT should implement a warmup period before Competitive or Unrated games, similar to Counter-Strike. This would allow players to practice gunfights while waiting for the rest of the lobby to load, preventing boredom.
Currently, only VALORANT’s Deathmatch mode has a warmup feature. Players believe that adding it to ranked matches would greatly improve the loading experience.
In addition to slow loading times for matches, players are also unhappy with the time it takes to launch VALORANT. They compare it to Valve’s latest Counter-Strike game, CS2, which has lightning-fast load times despite other optimization issues.
The cause of VALORANT’s deteriorating load times over the past year remains unknown, and it is up to Riot Games to identify and address the issue.
