The Halloween event in Apex Legends, called the Doppleganger event, has introduced a new limited-time mode called Tricks n’ Treats Trios. While players are enjoying some of the features brought by this event, there is one particular aspect that they are not too fond of and would like to see removed soon.
The Tricks n’ Treats Trios mode includes a fun adjustment called Copycat boxes, which allow characters to pick up the ability of another Legend in a new slot. These abilities can be used just like any other ability, adding an element of surprise to the games.
However, in a recent Reddit thread, players expressed their opinion that while this feature is enjoyable in the limited-time mode, they do not want it to become a permanent addition to the game. They believe that perks, such as the Copycat feature, create unpredictability and should not be present in regular matches or ranked play.
Legend perks were initially introduced in the mobile version of Apex Legends and were later discussed for the PC and console versions. These perks allow players to customize their ability kit with personal attributes, such as bonuses for performing Finishers or modifying a legend’s passive or abilities. While some players appreciate the added surprise and customization options, others feel that it detracts from the core gameplay experience.
The general consensus in the Reddit thread was that the Copycat feature, along with perks, is enjoyable for special events but should not become a permanent aspect of the game. Players prefer to see them only in limited-time modes.
As of now, the developer has not made any official announcements regarding the inclusion of perks in the PC and console versions of Apex Legends.
