Players Fed Up with Nerfed Rewards in League of Legends

superadmin

League of Legends players are growing increasingly frustrated with the diminishing rewards they receive from loot boxes, capsules, and other in-game rewards. Over the years, Riot Games has been gradually reducing the quantity and quality of these rewards, leading to player dissatisfaction.

When Hextech crafting was introduced in 2016, players were thrilled with the abundance of items and high-quality skins they could obtain. However, as time went on, the value of these rewards decreased significantly, leaving players disappointed.

One major complaint is the decline in rewards for watching professional League matches. Previously, players could earn epic chests with valuable skins, but now they receive Esports Capsules with little of value. This change has left many feeling underwhelmed.

Furthermore, unlocking desired skins through the rewards system has become incredibly difficult and time-consuming. Players either have to spend a significant amount of money or invest weeks of gameplay to obtain these skins.

Another point of contention is the reduction in end-of-season rewards. In the past, high-ranked players would receive Challenger jackets, but now there are fewer rewards available.

While some players understand the need for monetization, as League of Legends is a free-to-play game, others argue that the current system is unfair. They believe that Riot Games should provide more rewarding experiences without forcing players to spend excessive amounts of money.

On the other hand, some players defend Riot’s monetization strategies, citing the example of Amazon Prime and the Prime Capsule, which offers Riot Points to purchase a new skin every month. They argue that players have the choice to spend money or not, and not having all the cosmetic items does not affect gameplay.

There are also those who reminisce about the past, claiming that modern players should be grateful for the rewards they receive, as earlier generations of gamers had much fewer rewards or none at all.

Riot Games has not yet responded to player feedback regarding this issue.
