Players of Diablo 4 are expressing their frustration with a feature that often leads them to click on the wrong NPC, causing annoyance and wasted time. A Reddit thread from Sept. 18 titled “How many times have you clicked on this guy at the anvil for the blacksmith” highlighted this issue.
The thread included a screenshot showing three NPCs, with one standing near an anvil, giving the impression that he is the Blacksmith. However, players soon realize that this assumption is incorrect, leading to repeated mistakes and confusion.
Despite being aware of the mistake, players continue to click on the wrong NPC, as expressed by one user who humorously wrote, “I used to. I still do, but I used to too.” Others mentioned wasting even more time by completing an entire quest line under the false belief that it would unlock the blacksmith.
Many players shared their frustration with this misleading character, expressing their annoyance at clicking on the anvil instead of the correct NPC, resulting in wasted time and frustration.
Diablo 4 has faced significant criticism since its release, with some fans even considering it “dead” before the upcoming release of season two on Oct. 17. The developers are expected to address these issues and make quality-of-life changes, potentially including adjustments to the misleading blacksmith NPC.
