Players express concerns over the approval process for Pokémon Go Routes as Niantic expands the pool of submitters.
Pokémon Go players who have reached level 40 can now submit Routes, but there are worries about the review process. The community is calling for a faster approval process for Routes still under review. With more players able to send suggestions, delays for approval may increase, and there is a fear that low-quality Routes will be added to the game.
Niantic has made some quality-of-life changes to Routes, including listing more of them in the Nearby tab, adding directional arrows, and a count of Zygarde Cells collected. However, since their release in July, Routes have been controversial, and the approval process has been a point of contention. Dangerous or uninteresting Routes sparked complaints in July, while players reported having their accounts suspended in September for submitting suggestions that were not accepted.
Niantic has adjusted the policy with gradual warnings, but with the expansion of Route submitters, players are concerned that further adjustments may be made. In the Reddit thread discussing the news, players shared their experiences of having low-quality Routes approved quickly, while higher quality Routes are still pending.
In addition to concerns about the approval process, players have also expressed frustration with the Zygarde Cell mechanics in Routes. Many players are still missing these items due to how they appear in the game’s overworld.
Niantic plans to introduce further adjustments to Routes, including expanding the pool of players who can suggest Routes, increasing the number of Zygarde Cells rewarded, and implementing more notifications and quality-of-life improvements.
