The recently released DLC, The Teal Mask, for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has been met with disappointment from players due to its poor performance compared to the base game. Many players have reported frame drops and low-quality graphics, which were already issues in the original game. Despite high expectations, it seems that the developers did not put in enough effort to address these concerns.
Players have expressed their frustration on various social media platforms, with one Reddit user stating, “The base game had its problems, including FPS drops, but the DLC area is even worse. I’m experiencing subpar FPS, sometimes dropping below 20, while exploring.” This sentiment was echoed by numerous other players.
During our own exploration of the DLC, we also encountered performance issues, particularly in certain areas. The frame drops were most severe when ascending to the mountain’s summit.
The Teal Mask DLC introduced a new storyline, as well as the Legendary Pokémon Ogerpon and its Tera form, along with other new species. It also included additional activities like the Timeless Woods, Ogre Oustin’, and limited-time Mass Outbreak events.
As of now, the developer has not addressed the performance complaints, and it remains uncertain whether a hotfix will be implemented to resolve the issue.
