Pokémon Scarlet and Violet October Patch Fixes Gamebreaking Bugs

superadmin

The latest patch for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has arrived, addressing the issues that were promised to be fixed by The Pokémon Company. In addition, it has also resolved a gamebreaking bug that many players were unaware of.

The main focus of version 2.0.2 was to resolve a problem where certain trainer NPCs were not being marked as defeated after battles, preventing players from claiming rewards. This issue has now been resolved, allowing players to receive rewards from trainers such as Pokémon League representatives and the Ogre Clan in The Teal Mask DLC.

Furthermore, a bug that prevented the transfer of special Pokémon captured in Pokémon Go and sent to Pokémon HOME to SV has been patched.

While these fixes are significant, they do not address the performance issues that have plagued the game since its launch. Players have been vocal about the lack of frames and lag, and although these concerns are valid, there is another issue that has been fixed in this patch, which may go unnoticed by many players.

After the release of the Scarlet and Violet DLC, players discovered that their game states could crash if they had already registered Koraidon or Miraidon to their Pokédex before defeating the Paradise Protection Protocol and completing the story in Aera Zero. This crash would occur when hovering over specific spots in the party menus during battles. The Ver. 2.0.2 patch has successfully resolved this crash, ensuring that games will no longer crash if a Legendary Pokémon is obtained early.

No information has been shared regarding additional patches at this time. However, news about Scarlet and Violet’s second DLC, The Indigo Disk, is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, with a planned release in Winter 2023.
