Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC Expected to Release in December

Derek Morgan

Fans eagerly anticipate the release of the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC, with many speculating that it will arrive in December. This belief is based on the ranked schedule and an upcoming format change.

The twelfth season of Gen IX’s online ranked battles began on October 31, utilizing the Regulation E ruleset. This ruleset introduced new and returning Pokémon from The Teal Mask DLC into the Scarlet and Violet VGC meta for the first time. As Regulation E is set to end on January 2, it is likely that the next regulation will incorporate Pokémon from The Indigo Disk DLC to shake up the metagame.

According to a Reddit thread from October 20, players predict that The Indigo Disk DLC will be released during the week of December 11, three weeks before the next VGC regulation. This timeline would allow players ample time to familiarize themselves with any new Pokémon, moves, and abilities.

The DLC is highly anticipated for its introduction of new Pokémon, such as the evolution of Duraludon, Archaludon, and the addition of moves like Upper Hand. Additionally, both competitive and casual players are excited about the mysterious twist on the Tera Type mechanic and its connection to the adorable Legendary Terapagos.

While an official release date for The Indigo Disk DLC has yet to be announced, fans remain hopeful that their predictions are accurate. If the DLC follows a similar timeline to Part One, The Teal Mask, which was released on September 13, it is reasonable to expect Part Two to be released a few weeks prior to the start of Regulation F.

As we await further information, Pokémon enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting December filled with new content and gameplay possibilities.
