The highly coveted Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo card from Pokémon TCG is still being scalped, despite The Pokémon Company’s attempts to prevent it. Originally intended for release at the Pokémon exhibit in the Von Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the card’s distribution was moved online due to unruly behavior at the event. However, scalpers are still thriving in their efforts to profit from this rare card.
A recent Facebook Marketplace post on Reddit showcased over 15 copies of the promo card, each priced at an exorbitant $170 USD. This is particularly disheartening considering that the cards were originally obtained for free. Fans expressed their disgust at this listing and the ongoing issue of scalping within the Pokémon TCG community.
Adding to the frustration, The Pokémon Center quickly sold out of the promo card within an hour of its announcement. Many fans who wanted the card were unable to obtain it, and some who were promised the card did not receive it at all. However, there is hope for those who missed out. The Pokémon Center has announced that purchasers who did not receive the promo card with their order will be receiving it after all.
Unfortunately, scalping remains a persistent problem in the trading card community, despite efforts by The Pokémon Company to combat it. The situation surrounding the Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo card has shed light on this issue and emphasized the need for further action.
