An Apex Legends player has made an unfortunate discovery about Revenant’s reworked shield from his new ultimate ability. It turns out that the shield is so thick that it takes two shots from a Kraber sniper rifle to actually damage his Evo shields.
The player shared their findings in a Reddit post, accompanied by a video showing them shooting a Revenant multiple times during a battle royale match. Despite dealing a total of 280 damage, the enemy Revenant withstands the shots and continues to fight back.
To put this into perspective, a level five Evo shield can only withstand 125 damage before breaking. This means that Revenant’s ultimate shield is stronger than two fifth-level shields combined.
There are a few reasons why Revenant’s shield is so powerful. One of them is that his new ultimate ability, Forged Shadows, has no bleedthrough. This means that any damage dealt to the shield from the ultimate does not carry over to his Evo shield.
Some players have compared Revenant’s ultimate shield to Gibraltar’s arm shield, which also has a similar passive protection. However, Gibraltar’s arm shield was patched because the no bleedthrough mechanic made it too overpowered.
Another observation is that Revenant can refresh his shields with a knock. This means that even if someone else knocks down an opponent, as long as Revenant had a hand in it, his shield will refresh.
Revenant was already a formidable opponent in fights before his overhaul, especially with his death totem ability. But this new version of Revenant may be even scarier, as players can now survive two powerful Kraber shots and still come out alive.
