Riot Games Releases Teamfight Tactics 13.18 B-Patch to Address Balance Issues

Riot Games has rolled out a new patch for Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 9.5 Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound. The patch, known as 13.18 B-patch, focuses on addressing balance problems related to the Bilgewater trait and the champion Nilah.

The Bilgewater trait and its four-cost carrier Nilah have been causing balance issues since the start of testing for TFT Set 9.5. Initially, Bilgewater was weak, but Nilah was overpowered due to a bug with Rapid Firecannon. This bug was fixed before the official launch of Horizonbound. However, it became clear that the Bilgewater trait itself was too strong. To avoid drastic changes, the TFT balance team made smaller adjustments to the trait.

In the 13.18 B-patch, Nilah’s cleave damage has been reduced from 75/75/100 to 65/65/100 percent, and her attack speed has been slowed down to 0.8 seconds. The breakpoints for the Bilgewater trait have also been nerfed, reducing health and damage percentages. Additionally, Cho’Gath’s mana has been nerfed from 20/80 to 30/90 to prevent any potential balance issues with this champion.

The TFT balance team acknowledges their mistakes in not addressing the Bilgewater trait and Nilah’s strength earlier. They aimed to find a balance between making Bilgewater playable and avoiding excessive changes. The team plans to further address any remaining balance issues in the upcoming Patch 13.19, scheduled for September 27.

Overall, the 13.18 B-patch aims to bring balance to the Bilgewater trait and Nilah, ensuring a fair and enjoyable gameplay experience for all TFT players.
