In their recent “State of the Agents” address, they announced the upcoming addition of a new duelist agent who will bring a unique twist to the game. This agent is designed for those skilled players who excel in aim and precision. Additionally, Riot hinted at a potential game-changing ability that players may not have expected.
Furthermore, Riot provided a teaser image titled “duckblood,” which depicts a scene in a hot pot restaurant. The image features a gloved hand using chopsticks to pick up a piece of piping hot meat, possibly duck. This intriguing image has sparked speculation among players about the new agent’s abilities and potential movement mechanics.
Players have already caught a glimpse of the new duelist agent through a leaked card in the Episode 7, Act 2 battle pass. The card, titled “Bulletproof,” has led to theories about the agent’s ability to withstand incoming damage. The card’s design, resembling a reactor, suggests that it may play a crucial role in the agent’s movement ability. Codenamed “Giraffe,” this agent has also been associated with leaked audio files featuring mechanical movement sounds.
In addition to the new agent, Riot addressed the struggles of the agent Deadlock. During VALORANT Champions 2023, Deadlock failed to make an impact and is considered a weak sentinel agent compared to others like Killjoy or Sage. Riot acknowledges this and plans to make improvements to Deadlock’s kit, particularly her Sonic Sensor and GravNet abilities, to enhance her reactive capabilities. These changes aim to make Deadlock a more viable option for holding flanks and improving her overall performance.
Riot is also closely monitoring Gekko’s position in the initiator meta and assessing the impact of recent balance changes. They will continue to observe how these adjustments affect Gekko’s viability in the game.
