Riot Games Testing Buffs for Morgana to Improve Her Kit and Bring Her Back into the Meta

superadmin

One of League of Legends’ most notorious crowd control champions, Morgana, has fallen out of favor due to the clunkiness of her abilities. However, Riot Games is stepping in to offer her some help.

Riot August, the lead champion designer in League, recently revealed on Twitter that the development team is currently testing a series of buffs for Morgana. These buffs are aimed at making her ultimate ability more effective throughout the game. Additionally, there will be a small increase in her poke power, particularly against jungle monsters, which may encourage players to use her outside of the support role once again.

The buffs being tested include a significant increase to Morgana’s ultimate ability. This ability, while powerful, is difficult to use effectively for a champion that prefers to stay at a distance. With the proposed changes, Morgana will gain movement speed in all directions when using her ultimate, making it easier for her to engage or disengage from fights. The stun duration will also be increased, and the ability will deal more damage at later ranks.

To balance these changes, Riot is experimenting with an increased cooldown for Morgana’s E ability, Black Shield, at early levels. This change aims to prevent players from spamming the ability and instead encourages them to use it strategically to protect themselves or their allies. The cooldown at later ranks will remain unchanged.

Another significant change being tested is an increase in the ability power ratio of Morgana’s W ability, her main source of poking enemies in lane as a support. This change will make her poke more impactful, especially for players who choose to play Morgana in the jungle. In addition, her W will now deal more damage to monsters, making jungle clears faster and more efficient.

Morgana has been a popular pick in the jungle in recent years, but changes to her W ability led to Riot reducing her off-role potential. These buffs aim to bring her back into the jungle meta while also improving her performance as a support.

It is currently unclear when these buffs will be released on live servers. They are expected to undergo testing on the PBE for some time, and adjustments may be made based on player feedback and performance data. Riot will likely monitor Morgana’s performance in both the support and jungle roles before finalizing the changes.

Overall, these buffs to Morgana’s abilities have the potential to make her a more viable and impactful champion in League of Legends. Players can look forward to seeing these changes in action once they are implemented.
