Riot Games to Remove Mythic Items from League of Legends in January

superadmin

Riot Games has announced that the controversial Mythic item system in League of Legends will be removed in January. The decision comes after player feedback and dissatisfaction with the system’s limitations and lack of choice.

Originally, Mythic items were intended to offer players different build paths and playstyles for their champions. However, in practice, players found themselves restricted to a single meta item pick, leading to frustration and a lack of experimentation.

Developers acknowledged the challenge of balancing Mythic items for over 160 champions and the complexity of interactions with other items and abilities. As a result, they have decided to sunset the Mythic system entirely.

While the Mythic item tier will be removed, popular items like Trinity Force and Infinity Edge will remain in the store. These items will also be able to be purchased together, but efforts will be made to balance their strengths to prevent them from becoming overpowered when combined.

Overall, Riot Games aims to address player concerns and improve the overall gameplay experience by removing the Mythic item system. The changes are set to take effect in January.
