Former CS:GO professional player Hiko has expressed his belief that Riot Games does a much better job at handling cheating in their game VALORANT compared to the developers of Counter-Strike 2. During a recent stream, Hiko encountered a blatant cheater in one of his CS2 games, sparking a discussion about the cheating problems in the game and how they compare to VALORANT.
Hiko praised Riot Games for implementing a kernel-level anti-cheat system in VALORANT, despite the initial backlash they received. He stated that he rarely encounters hackers in VALORANT at the highest rank, while in CS2, players constantly complain about cheaters, especially in the higher ranks.
VALORANT’s kernel-level anti-cheat system, although criticized for being intrusive, has proven to be effective in detecting and banning cheaters. On the other hand, Valve’s anti-cheat system in CS2 has not been as successful in combating hackers, leading to a significant issue in the game.
Hiko emphasized that if cheaters were magically eliminated from CS2, the game would be much more enjoyable, despite its other problems. However, this remains a dream that is unlikely to come true.
